Ryan Smith
SAG•AFTRA•WGA
Actor, Improviser, Writer, Los Angeles
"I have been collaborating with Ryan on stage, screen and in the writer's room for over ten years now and in my opinion he's about as good as it gets. He is endlessly creative, brilliantly funny in the most surprising ways and kind and gentle to boot. Ryan raises the level of every person he works with and every project he's involved with. I've created a lot of stories with him and I look forward to creating many, many more with him in the future. Also he's strong as a gorilla and fast a as a rabbit. So there's that."
-Brian D. Bradley, Exec. Producer, HBO Max's Head of the Class

I'm an L.A. based actor, improviser, writer, and proud father... of a terrier mix named Oliver.
I grew up in the San Fernando Valley, but I was dragged kicking and screaming to Florida at the age of 12. I was ultimately thankful for the move though, because it was there, in the dank swamps of Tampa, that I let go of my impossible dream of becoming a professional baseball player, and decided to go with the more practical career choice of professional actor.
I got my B.F.A. in Theatre from Florida State University and shortly after graduating, headed back out west (with a “brief” 6 year layover in Orlando) It was there I found a new love... improvisation.
"Wait, I get to be an actor, but I don't have to memorize lines? I'm in!!!"
- Me, circa 1995
After working my way up the ranks I eventually became an ensemble member at the award winning SAK Comedy Lab where I honed my improv chops, doing 8 performances a week for 3 years.
In 2001, I (finally!) made it back home to Los Angeles. It has been, and continues to be one heck of a ride. Some high points for me include writing and producing at MADtv, being an original cast member of the multiple award winning “Fellowship!: A Musical Parody of Lord of the Rings”, and doing just enough TV, film, national commercials, voiceovers, and web series to keep me from having a day job and/or living under an overpass near the 405 FWY.
